Spinal Mobilisation Techniques Course - Brunel University

The Spinal Mobilisation Course offers invaluable skills and knowledge for any Physiotherapist, Osteopath, Chiropractor or Sports Massage therapist. 


The course is practically based giving students lots of hands-on practice to develop confidence in the correct application of techniques.  

This comprehensive 1 day workshop includes gives a sound overview of both the underpinning principles of spinal mobilisation techniques and also how these can be used in management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

On the day the course will mainly focus on Maitlands principles of mobilisations.

Joints covered over the day are as follows:

  • Atlanto-occipital joint

  • Atlantoaxial Joint

  • C3 - C7

  • Cervico Thoracic junction

  • Thoracic Spine

  • Lumbar Spine

  • Sacro Iliac Joint


On the course the following conditions will be looked at in detail and how mobilisation techniques can help in patient management.

  • Torticollis

  • Whiplash

  • Cervical spine Spondylosis

  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

  • Disc Prolapse

  • Spondylolysis

  • Spondylolisthesis

  • Facet Joint Irritation

  • Nerve Root Irritation


All students receive a set of bespoke electronic course notes to complement the course with all techniques covered having an associated video embedded into the PDF. This enables students to refresh techniques when required.
